We at Absolute Music Academy recognize that our society has changed dramatically over the last several decades - and, therefore, the way in which we learn has changed. Unlike fifty years ago, we now use computers and technology in a multitude of ways.
Most music programs still use the same exact learning models as was used fifty years ago; but, if we learn differently now - and have different resources available - why would we still be using the same teaching methods?
All of the nation's most successful public and private schools use technology within their learning model. In as much, AMA has adapted our teaching methods to modern standards within our music education discourse. And you know what we have found? Our students learn faster, are more excited about learning music, and have more fun while doing it!
All Absolute students taking private lessons have either a half-hour or one-hour lab lesson as a part of their private lesson curriculum. Students use custom-built Mac (Apple) computers while in the learning lab.
Every computer is equipped with high-tech music related hardware and software including Midi Keyboards, desktop instrument plug-in interfaces, high-quality headphones and microphones, and a sophisticated collection of sound recording and educational software. The software used within all of our learning labs is the same software used at some of the world's most elite music conservatories and is designed for 20 years of curriculum growth, from 3 years - PhD research and training.
Students are encouraged to be creative, and learn how to record, write and perform their music through their lab lessons; they learn the technical aspect in order to facilitate their
